HISTORY OF BROCARD
In 1864 the Frenchman Henri Brocard (1839 – 1900) opened a shop selling soaps and perfumes in Moscow. His wife, coming from Belgium, was already very familiar with Russian traditions thanks to her international education and background. Henri Brocard continuously expanded his production in Russia, becoming one of the major European soap and perfume manufacturers at the end of the 19th century. He also succeeded in being appointed the official purveyor to the Russian tsar and the Spanish royal courts.
